Yemeni President Abd Rabbou Mansour Hadi received last night a telephone call from the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.
Al-Zayani expressed GCC countries’ concern over the failure to adhere to the commitments of the National Dialogue, approved by the GCC as a road map for the future.
He said Yemen was the only country, among those hit by the so-called "Arab Spring", to prioritise top national interests and implement a transition phase, outlined by the GCC Initiative which paved the way for all groups, including NGOs, youths, women and even the Huthis, to engage in the all-inclusive National Dialogue.
He praised the achievements of Yemen under the leadership of President Hadi, re-affirming full-fledged support to his leadership and efforts.
He stressed that whoever opposes the outcomes of the National Dialogue aims to disrupt national consensus and wants to impede efforts to open up peace in the country.
