Leader of the Yemeni Houthi Group Abdulmalik Al-Houthi said Friday that the second stage of "escalation" against the government will start today.
Houthi called on his followers to continue their protests in the center of Sanaa until their clear demands, including government resignation and reversing a recent decision to slash fuel subsidies, are met.
On Thursday, Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi sent a high-level delegation to the northern province of Saada, the stronghold of Shiite Houthis, to meet with Abdulmalik in a bid to calm the situation.
