Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak
Sanaa - MENA

Yemen's Shiite group rejected President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi's choice of a new prime minister on Tuesday, threatening to derail a UN-brokered peace deal with the armed group that has controlled the capital for weeks, the ABC News reported.
Hadi named Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak after consultations with political parties, the official news agency Saba reported.
Shortly after the announcement, the Ansarullah Houthi group said in a statement that the naming of bin Mubarak was not "consensual" and "makes a mockery of Yemen's independence and sovereignty as well as the will of the people."
Houthi fighters seized Sanaa with little resistance last month after overrunning an army brigade affiliated with the rival but moderate Islamist Islah party, making them effectively the power brokers in the country.
The Houthis, who have ties to Iran, have resisted demands to quit the capital, saying that an agreement they signed with Hadi to make them a part of the government gives them the right to stay until a new prime minister has been named.
