The General People's Congress has decided to dismiss Yemeni President Abdo Rabbu Mansour Hadi from his posts as the party's vice-president and Secretary General.
The Standing Committee of the Congress, chaired by former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, announced the decision to strip Hadi from his posts.
The decision was adopted hours after the UN Security Council's sanctions on Saleh and two leaders of the Houthi group, coupled with disputes between Hadi and Saleh within the Congress.
The Standing Committee also decided to dismiss vice-president Dr. Abdulkareem Al-Aryani for his support for Hadi. Al-Aryani was replaced by Ahmad bin Daghar.
Aref Al-Zoka replaced Hadi as the Congress Secretary General.
