UAQ Chamber of Commerce and Industry elects new Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the UAQ Chamber of Commerce and Industry has elected Saeed bin Nasser Al Talay as its director, as per Decree No. 5 of 2017 issued by H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, on the reformation of the chamber’s board of directors for the 2017-2020 period.

Sultan Humaid Abdullah was also elected as the chairman's first deputy, as well as Khalfan Ahmed Misfar as the second deputy, Obaid Ibrahim Humaid as treasurer and Aisha Sultan Leitaim as the treasurer’s deputy. The members of the chamber’s permanent, specialised, regional and international committees were also elected.

Al Talay expressed his gratitude and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid for the trust given to him in selecting the members of the chamber’s board of directors, while pledging to work effectively with all relevant federal and local authorities, to develop the national economy and realise the country's strategy to achieve development and prosperity.

He said that the new board of directors will work hard to complete the work of the previous board, by contributing to the process of economic development and promoting investments in Umm Al Qaiwain. He also stressed that the close cooperation between the board’s members will enhance the role of local businesspeople, to assure their sustainable development.
