Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

An Emirati female is the first young lady competing in the history of the WorldSkills under the refrigeration and air-conditioning category as part of the UAE participation in the global event, Ali Al Marzouqi, CEO of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, has stated.

Before entering WorldSkills, Roudha Bin Bahr participated in EmiratesSkills, where her talent and dedication drove her to success.

In statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, Al Marzouqi said the UAE team participating in the world event consists of 34 contestants, nine of whom are females who are all competing under technical categories.

The UAE contenders are the largest in number among all Arab teams participating in the global competitions and are competing in 31 skills, he said, expecting the UAE contestants to harness key trophies during the international competitions.

The champion contests fall under six categories: construction and building technology, creative art and fashion, transportation and logistics, manufacturing and engineering technology, information and communication technology, and health and social care.
