The United Arab Emirates' (UAE) crown prince of Abu Dhabi said on Wednesday that "terrorist acts" will not deter the humanitarian course of the Gulf state, UAE state news agency WAM reported.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, made the remarks in the wake of the bomb attack in Afghanistan that killed five UAE diplomats, who were on a humanitarian mission Tuesday.

Scores of people were injured in the attack.

He said the "terrorists' criminal acts" would not intimidate the UAE, which would stick to its humanitarian and charitable principles.

The "forces of evil" behind the attack are not interested in development and humanitarian work in Afghanistan, he said.

"We have lost the heroes who were on a humanitarian and charitable mission. The nation is proud of them," Sheikh Mohamed said, adding that they "provide us with the determination to conquer the forces of darkness."
