Sheikha Mozah bint Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Al Mubarakah Foundation Board Chair, has attested that Flag Day "is an important celebration in our lives, as the flag is a proud and glorious symbol of the homeland".
In a statement marking the occasion, Sheikha Mozah said that Flag Day should always be celebrated as it represents the nation's glorious development, the pioneering roles of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the Founding Fathers.
Flag Day events also celebrate the accession to the nation's presidency by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has helped continue the country's developmental journey in all areas, she added.
"Flag Day is not only a day of celebration, but a day in which the people of the UAE must reflect on the nation's achievements, and how the wise leadership and it's people's efforts have united them all to make the UAE a beacon of progress and prosperity," Sheikha Moza concluded.
