UAE and Chad sign MoU on entry-visa exemption

The UAE and the Republic of Chad have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, on the exemption of UAE nationals holding diplomatic, private, official, mission and regular passports, and Chadian citizens having diplomatic passports, from pre-visa entry requirement.

The MoU was signed by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Chadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed also met with Louise Mushikiwabo, Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and East African Community, Simon Coveney, Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Khairat Abdul Rahmanov, Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Louis Straker, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade, and Taro Kono, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the meetings, bilateral relations and means of enhancing and developing them in various diplomatic, political, economic, trade, cultural, tourism, renewable energy and other fields, were discussed.

They also reviewed and exchanged views and political positions on the latest regional and international issues of common interest, especially the situation in Libya, Syria, among others on the UN agenda.

The meetings were attended by Lana Nusseibeh, UAE Permanent Representative to the UN, and Khaled Omran Al-Amiri, UAE Ambassador to Japan.
