The 'Journey of Hope' boat campaign is reflective of Kuwait's strong social and humanitarian commitment, said Tunisian officials here late Monday.
At a ceremony held by the Kuwaiti Embassy to welcome the crew of the boat, Tunisian Minister of Social Affairs Ahmed Ammar Yanbai told KUNA that the campaign's mission is to spread social awareness about people with disability.
He thanked the state of Kuwait for this honest gesture of solidarity, noting that the arrival of the boat would further boost ties between the countries.
Echoing similar sentiments, Minister of Youth, Sport, Women, and Family Saber Abu Outai lauded Kuwait's humanitarian gesture.
He stressed that the campaign's stop in Tunisia showed that Kuwait was keen on supporting the humanitarian and social welfare scene in Tunisia.
The boat was received yesterday here by Kuwait's Ambassador to Tunisia Fahad Al-Awadhi and other officials.
