At least 15 unidentified bodies were found by the National Coast Guard units off El-Ketf port, east Tunisia, near the Libyan shores on Friday.
The bodies were retrieved during a wide-scale search operation after two bodies were found about three miles off the port yesterday, Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) reported, citing security sources. The two bodies were handed to the local authorities in Ben Guerdane, Governorate of Medenine.
The bodies are believed to belong to Syrian illegal immigrants whose boat capsized after sailing from a Libyan port toward Italy due to its poor conditions and heavy weight.
