Trial of 42 defendants in Minya riots starts
Minya - MENA
Minya Criminal Court started on Sunday the trial of 42 defendants involved in riots that took place in Minya's Matae township amidst intensive security measures. Security forces cordoned off the streets surrounding Minya court complex. Minya court sentenced 13 defendants to prison terms ranging from 5 to 88 years over their indictment in riots and clashes that took place in Samalout and Minya. Four other defendants were acquitted of the charges leveled against them
