Traffic violations in the emirate of Ajman saw a 14 percent increase year over year to 125,000 in 2016, police statistics revealed.
Colonel Khaled Al Nuaimi, Director of Ajman Traffic and Patrols, said the increase in registered violations was due to an escalation of police monitoring on the emirate's roads.
''The aim is to increase the level of traffic safety,'' he stated, urging motorists to respect traffic rules to avoid fines and measures against infractions.
