Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou held a seminar with tourism police chiefs on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Zaazou discussed the close relation between security and tourism.
The minister reviewed the development of the tourism movement all over the world, pointing out that the number of tourists worldwide reached one billion in 2012 compared to 25 million in 1950.
He stressed the importance of the tourism sector for Egypt's economy, with four million Egyptians working in the field.
Tourism contributes with 11.6 percent to the national income, the minister said.
