Terrorism is on the rise in several Arab countries and is posing a threat not only to their security and stability but their unity as well, Egypt's permanent delegate to the Arab League Tareq Adel said.
Addressing an extraordinary session of the AL Council at the delegates' level Sunday, Adel said "the world has witnessed the cowardly terror attack against the Egyptian Armed Forces on October 24 that left dozens killed and injured."
Egypt's delegation has prepared a draft statement to be issued by the AL to condemn the criminal attack, he said.
Under the draft, the Arab countries will commit to cooperating at all levels to combat terrorism, he said, calling on the AL Council to adopt the statement.
