
The Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Co-existence (Ta'ayush) has submitted an application to the Organising Committee of the International Peace Conference (IPC) currently being held in Seoul requesting to host this international conference in Manama.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is the first country that participates in the conference and submits an application to the Organising Committee requesting to host this international event.
The Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Co-existence's President Yusuf Bu Zaboun told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that the delegation had submitted an application requesting to host this global event and had several talks and discussions with the IPC's Organising Committee.
The Conference has met vast international acclaim and large presence from thousands of participants from 170 countries from all over the world.
He said that the committee welcomed the idea as Bahrain has a good reputation of embracing all religions and ethnicities.
The 21-member Bahraini delegation represents all components of the Bahraini society who will participate at all conference workshops in order to convey the Kingdom's urbane image as a remarkable example of a cosmopolitan nation where forbearance, coexistence and tolerance .
Bu Zaboun added that the Society conducted various functions which culminated in the IPC's organizing committee extending an official invitation to the society to attend this international event.
The society had invited US singer Michael W. Smith who visited Bahrain leading a 14-member delegation and attended the Peace Prayer event organized by the society four times in just one year. The event was attended by delegations from 23 countries. Bahrain was the first Arab country visited by US singer Michael W. Smith.
