Syrian Armed Forces, in a new series of operations, stormed the strongholds of militants in Daraa and Idlib's countryside and killed a large number of foreign-backed rebels.
The army targeted rebels' gathering centers of insurgents in several areas in Daraa including the South of Syriatel building, the buildings surrounding al-Ordon street, al-Karak neighborhood, surroundings of al-Masri roundabout, East of Katait building, and surroundings of Bilal al-Habashi mosque in al-Balad, killing and wounding scores of fighters, a military source told SANA.
A long convoy of rebels' vehicles loaded with weapons and ammunitions was targeted by the Syrian commandoes who killed too many militants.
Several militants were also killed by the brave Syrian soldiers in Ard al-Muqattara, Nawa, al-Shumara and the northern alley of Enkhil town and in al-Hirak and Tseel in Daraa.
Syrian armed forces inflicted heavy losses upon the insurgents' gathering centers in Idlib countryside including Ma’ardaba, Khan al-Sabil, Hirsh Musaiben Abu al-Zuhur and Kafar Najd where too many rebels were killed and injured in army's operations.
The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.
The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.
As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.
Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
