Syrian army strikes major blow at militants in Aleppo

The Syrian Armed Forces stormed the hideouts of foreign-backed militants in Aleppo and Quneitra provinces, killing and injuring a large number of them.
The army soldiers inflicted major losses at the rebels in the nearby areas of Aleppo, leaving scores of them in the areas of al-Tal Hattabat, Bayanun, al-Jaddoul, Qabasin, al-Amryeh, Kurum Aziza, al-Tamoura, Hreitan, Hanano and Mayir dead and injured.
Meantime, the insurgents sustained heavy toll in al-Hamidyeh, Qunaitera, al-Samadaniyeh and al-Gharbiyeh, as the army gained more ground on the outskirts of Quneitra.
The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.
The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.
As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.
Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
