
Syrian regime and opposition delegations metface-to-face Tuesday at peace talks, in an attempt to settle the three-year conflict, dpa reported.International envoy Lakhdar Brahimi decided to call for a jointsession rather than his planned individual talks with each side onthe second day of the resumed negotiations, sources in the twodelegations said.All topics would be on the table, the sources said, with Brahimi saidto be willing to address the conflicting priorities of the two sides.The United Nations announced Monday evening that Brahimi would meetsenior Russian and US diplomats Friday in Geneva. The two countrieswere instrumental in organizing the peace talks.
