Riyadh - SPA

The Supreme Court has called on all Muslims in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sight the crescent of the month of Shawwal on Friday evening, Ramadan 29, 1433 A.H, corresponding to August 17, 2012, according to Umm Al-Qura Calendar. In an announcement today, the Supreme Court also called on whoever sees the crescent of the month of Shawwal by naked eyes or through binoculars to report to the nearest court and register his testimony, or report to the authority of the region’s governorate if there is no judge in the area where he sighted the crescent in order to facilitate his reaching to the nearest court. The Supreme Court also urges all Muslims to sight the Crescent for the cooperation of all Muslims in righteousness and piety.
