
Sudanese Foreign Minister Ahmed Karti praised Wednesday relations with the State of Qatar, expressing his hope of advancing relations in the future.
Karti said that advancing the investment field is a priority under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the Sudanese President Field Marshall Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Basheer.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency, Karti said that the visit made by the Sudanese President to Qatar aimed to continue consultation in a number of issues of joint interest.
On the investment front, the Sudanese Foreign Minister said that there are plenty of fields for investment such as agriculture, real estate and tourism. He said that the two countries already have a number of projects that reflect a true economic partnership between the two countries.
On Israel's attack on Gaza, Karti said that both the Sudanese and Qatari administration agreed that Arab leaders in the region must move swiftly to end the massacres committed against the Palestinian people. He revealed that the Sudanese President met today with Head of Hamas Political Bureau Khaled Meshaal to discuss the latest developments.
On the latest developments on the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) , the Sudanese Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far. He added that signing the document with the Sudanese Justice and Liberation Movement in July 14 2011 is paying dividends.
