
The Armed Forces has affirmed its readiness to confront all aspects of plotting and aggression against the nation's security and stability and to eradicate the pockets of rebellion shortly.
This came in the address of the Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. (Engineer) Mustafa Osman Obeid, Wednesday at a celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the Armed Forces' Day.
Lt. Gen. Obeid has reiterated call on the gun-holders in Darfur, South Kordofan and the Blue Nile States to respond to the calls for constructive dialogue and ending the state of war.
He said that the Armed Forces is following up with great concern progress of the national dialogue between all the political components, hoping that the dialogue will lead to national accord.
He stressed that the Armed Forces will remain honest to the security and stability of citizens and supporting to his national and political choices.
Lt. Gen. Obeid hoped that the sessions of negotiations between Sudan and South Sudan State will lead to fair and transparent formulas and mechanisms conducive to enhancing the relations between the two countries and achieving security, stability and the welfare for the peoples of the two countries.
