
The acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdul-Mahmoud Abdul-Halim, said that the visit paid by the Egyptian President, Abdul-Fatah Al-Sisi, to Khartoum came as part of the positive progress in the relations between the two countries following the incidents in Egypt.
In a statement to SUNA, Ambassador Abdul-Halim indicated that the visit of President Al-Sisi reflected the joint desire of the two countries to consolidate the bilateral relations in all fields, referring to the calls of the two presidents for more strengthening to the bilateral relations for the interest of the two peoples and the coordination of stances at international and regional forums.
He said that the coming stage would witness convocation of the joint Sudanese - Egyptian committee for industry and trade and the joint committee on customs, besides the tentative operation of the land crossings toward enhancing the trade between the two countries.
He also said that the joint Sudanese - Egyptian higher committee would meet in Cairo in the coming period.
