 Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received at his palace in Riyadh today His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in the presence of Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. They reviewed ways of boosting historic relations of cooperation between both countries at all levels.

HRH the Prime Minister commended the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the bulwark of the Arab identity and the defender of the Arab and Muslims' dignity and unity. He also stressed Saudi Arabia's efforts to boost the role of the Arab and Islamic nation as a global power with a political and economic weight. He thanked King Salman for his supportive stances to Bahrain, commending solid fraternal relations between both countries.

HRH the Premier conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his best wishes to Saudi Arabia and the Saudi people of more progress and prosperity.

King Salman and HRH the Prime Minister reviewed regional and international developments and stressed the importance to continue adopting initiatives to promote the GCC bloc and enhance integration of its member states. They also underlined the need for concerted efforts to confront challenges. In this respect, HRH the Premier commended the role of Saudi Arabia in rallying ranks to defend the interests of the GCC countries and people.

King Salman and HRH the Premier underscored the importance of broadening the scope of cooperation and rapprochement between each GCC member state and the regional and international surrounding so as to boost regional security, stability and growth.

HRH the Premier affirmed that the specificity of relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia represents a unique model of deep-rooted historic relations between countries.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques held a lunch banquet in honour of HRH the Prime Minister which was attended by the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, members of the royal family, ministers and senior officials.
