Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, has lauded the remarkable progress made by the UAE in preparing youth leaders armed with the spirit of initiatibe, and developing collective and voluntary work.

 

He stressed that the initiative of the Watani Al-Emarat Foundation in the “Watani Al-Emarat Ambassadors –“2020 Leaders” Programme contributes to creating a future generation whose members are capable of assuming national responsibilities and carrying on the progress and development march in the UAE.

 

The speaker made the statements as he received the members of the “Watani Al-Emarat Ambassadors –“2020 Leaders” Programme, in the presence of MP Abbas Al-Madhi, Secretary-General, Abdulla bin Khalaf Al-Dossari, and a number of officials of the Representatives Council’s Secretariat-General.

 

Al-Mulla wished the members of the UAE programme a happy stay in the kingdom, noting that their visit has filled the hearts of Bahrainis with joy and happiness, as it coincides with Bahrain’s celebrations of the Accession and National Days.

 

He lauded the depth of the Bahraini-UAE relations thanks to wisdom and leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and UAE President, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, hailing the existing cooperation between the Council of Representatives and the UAE Federal National Council.

 

The Speaker commended the efforts of the Watani Al-Emarat Foundation for its programme, wishing the participants every success in their academic and professional careers, describing them as ambassadors of the UAE, Bahrain and GCC countries.

 

He called on them to be loyal to the nation and the leadership, as well as to be creative and hard-working, serve people, and adhere to religion and good morals.

 

Legal Advisor, Mohammed Buqais, delivered a lecture in which he highlighted the Legislative Branch’s role and prerogatives, as well as the parliamentary march witnessed by the kingdom since the launch of HM King Hamad’s Reform Project.

Head of the Parliamentary Training Centre, Mariam Hashim, also deleivered a statement on the centre’s goals and programmes aiming to enhance parliamentary culture and developing the outcomes of parliamentary work.
