
As part of the Directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Abdullah Al Khalifa, Southern Governor moved to the location of a commercial mall, in which parts of its ceiling fell down in Riffa on Saturday.
He asserted in a phone call to Bahrain TV news bulletin that no serious injuries were reported, while a person sustained medium injuries and was referred to hospital for treatment, adding that the civil defence teams rushed to the scene and evacuated the mall as precautionary measure to prevent another injury.
He said that he met all concerned bodies to learn reasons behind the accident, as the results will be announced in the coming days to avoid the repetition of such unfortunate incident in the future. He urged the public to get information from official sources and avoid rumors and untrue information on the social media.
The Governor hailed the efforts of civil defence personnel and policemen and thanked the public for their cooperation with the policemen.
The General Director of Civil Defence also talked to Bahrain TV and said that the case was reported at 5:45 PM, in which the falling parts were thin aluminum and decoration pieces. He said that the civil defence teams evacuated the mall for the safety of the public. (MOI-Media Centre).
