Interior Minister, Tayeb Belaiz declared Sunday in Algiers that the situation in the province of Ghardaïa (600km south of Algiers) is progressing towards "security and stability," urging the journalists to “wisely” deal with this matter.
The minister made these remarks on the sidelines of the Council of Nation plenary session devoted to the debate on bill on civil status.
He has recalled the roadmap elaborated by the ministry, which assigned a team to implement it, so “things return to normal gradually."
Belaiz called on all those who deal with incidents of Ghardaia, especially journalists to show "wisdom", stating that "one misused term could complicate things."
The matter is "sensitive and complicated," he said while adding that it is very difficult to "resolve a dispute between brothers."
The minister denied "a relaxation of security measures in recent times", indicating that the arrest of terrorists shows that "the security services, especially the National Popular Army (ANP), fully accomplish their mission to ensure security of the country."
