President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi
Cairo - MENA

The Egyptian people did not revolt against former president Mohamad Morsi because of the frequent power outages but against his policies, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi assured.
The people revolted against Morsi's policies which aimed at changing the Egyptian identity, Sisi said during a meeting with chief editors of newspapers and the Middle East News Agency (MENA) on Sunday.
The recent improvement realized in the power blackout crisis over the past few days was because houses were given priority in power supplies at the expense of heavy energy-consuming industries, Sisi said.
Supporters of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group sabotaged some power plants to exacerbate the crisis, he clarified.
"They are sabotaging power stations so people would say that 'Morsi was toppled because of the power blackouts… but now Morsi is gone and the problem still exists, so it wasn't Morsi's fault'", Sisi said.
He attributed the power crisis to several factors, saying that power stations had not been upgraded for three years now as well as the number of natural gas and oil excavations declined because of the financial dues of foreign partners were not paid.
Also, some MB supporters sabotaged several power plants, he affirmed.
