Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his South Sudanese counterpart Salva Kiir Mayardit on Saturday stressed the importance of bolstering bilateral ties at all levels, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri said.
Earlier in the day, the two presidents met at the presidential headquarters in Heliopolis, followed by a luncheon in honor of the visiting president.
In a press conference with South Sudanese Foreign Ministry Barnaba Benjamin, Shoukri said that Egypt hails Kiir's visit, pointing out that he would soon pay a visit to the African country.
"President Salva Kiir has invited President Sisi to visit South Sudan," Shoukri underscored, adding that he is looking forward to further communication between the two countries.
For his part, Benjamin described the three-day visit as productive and very successful, affirming that a number of agreements have been concluded between Egypt and South Sudan.
"Kiir expressed thanks to President Sisi for what Egypt provides to South Sudan", Benjamin noted.
