The Sharjah Economic Development Department, SEDD, and the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, Etisalat, have stressed the importance of developing and enhancing mutual co-operation in all fields.

The aim is to enable the two parties to manage and maintain the network and devices, increase productivity, and focus on the main areas of work. With the goal of enhancing co-operation, SEDD and Etisalat have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU. Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SEDD, and Muhammed Ali bin Bakheet Al Amimi, Acting General Manager of Etisalat Northen Emirate, signed the agreement.

The MoU states that the two parties will work on strengthening mutual work, providing SEDD with complete and fully managed Internet protocol solution, as well as network and hardware management and maintenance services.

This will contribute to the development of the service system in the Department, which goes in line with its strategy of developing the infrastructure using the latest technologies to enhance the investment climate and drive economic growth in the emirate.

Commenting on the agreement, Al Suwaidi praised the existing communication between the two sides and the role they play in serving the society in general and economic and investment activity in particular.

He stressed that this agreement establishes a lasting and developed relationship that enhances partnership opportunities and improves the business environment. It also allows for benefitting from technical expertise as well as the human and material resources available to both parties.

In addition, he gave a detailed explanation of the efforts related to the development of all the branches of the Department and the use of the latest electronic technology and connectivity with all local and federal agencies. This comes in line with the wise directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council.

On the other hand, Al Amimi said that they are very pleased to have an agreement with the Economic Department, which will strengthen close co-operation between the two parties. He added that Etisalat will work with the Department to provide it with the needed advanced Internet protocol solution with network and hardware management and maintenance services to enable them to increase productivity.
