Lebanon’s new Prime Minister Tammam Salam said Saturday that establishing security was the biggest challenge facing the coalition cabinet. He added that top issues on the cabinet’s priority list include economic and financial issues, energy as well as the economic strains caused by Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon. He said that agreeing a new cabinet, in addition to gaining the confidence of the parliament will be a step forward towards stability in Lebanon. Salam maintained however that the cabinet’s biggest short-term priority was holding presidential elections, adding that the election’s success will be a massive opportunity to regain Lebanon’s democratic system. It will also help push the legislative along, the Prime Minister added. (QNA)
