A number of security experts have affirmed that the establishment of a buffer zone along Egypt's border with Gaza Strip will prevent terrorist schemes.
Fouad Allam said such a buffer zone would contribute to achieving security, pointing out that he, in the past, proposed the establishment of a canal of 15 meter depth along the border with Gaza to prevent tunnels digging.
Sayed el-Gabri said the proposed buffer zone would secure Egypt borders and prevent smuggling tunnels.
He added that the armed forces managed to destroy about 90 percent of the tunnels, stressing the importance of cooperation of Sinai residents with the armed forces to fight terror.
