Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced Friday that it monitored at least six unlicensed pilgrimage expeditions, three of them were previously barred by law enforcers, in addition to nine advertisements on social media.
The Ministry is closely coordinating with Ministry of Awqaf Ministry and Islamic Affairs for the sake of safety, protection and comfort of Kuwait's pilgrims, the Ministry's Security Media Department said in a press statement.
The coordination is done upon the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and acting Minister of Awqaf Ministry and Islamic Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, noted the statement, indicating that he stressed the necessity of providing all guarantees to protect Kuwaiti pilgrims from false campaigns.
The Criminal Investigation Department launched a campaign, in cooperation with Ministry of Awqaf Ministry and Islamic Affairs, to oversee and arrest any violators of the pilgrimage and immigration rules.
The statement urged citizens not to pay money for any expedition organizers before making sure that they have legal licenses.
