Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz
Makkah - KUNA

Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz said here on Sunday his country would continue fighting terrorism and extremism.
The remark was made by the Saudi king in a speech delivered on his behalf, Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, during an annual reception for leaders of the Islamic countries, Islamic dignitaries, guests of the Saudi King and heads of missions who performed Hajj this year.
"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue its efforts in fighting terrorism and extremism. We shall not rest till we eradicate them along with the misguided sect that has used the Islamic religion as a bridge to achieve its personal interests and unlawfully stigmatize the beauty of Islam with their misleading thought," he said.
He added that the misleading interpretation and extremism have led to terrorism and that's why concerted efforts need to be exerted in order to eradicate it.
But, he defended that terrorism is neither attached to Islam nor to all other heavenly religions. Rather, it is a rotten element, which has no remedy to it except amputation, he insisted.
The Saudi king regretted that it is heart-breaking to watch the world entering a phase that is full of hatred, skirmishes and disunity.
Condemning international inaction against terrorism and violence in various regions across the world, he said: "History will one day reveal how strange the silence of the international community is, along with its establishments and organizations, while in some parts of this world, the blood of innocent people is effused, others were driven away from their land, and their rights were subject to abuse." He concluded by saying that the only way to spare the blood of the peoples of Muslim countries is to firmly face the unjust, and not to hesitate to point it out.
