Defense Minister Yaacoub Sarraf expressed Saturday utter support to the Lebanese Army and utmost confidence in its leadership, officers and soldiers "who are entrusted with our souls, lands, faith and liberties."
"My instruction to the Army Command is to do what it considers a duty without consulting anyone," he added, highlighting his political responsibility in backing the Army.
Sarraf's words came as he laid a wreath on the Martyrs' Statue outside the Issam Fares Municipal Palace in the town of Western Tal-Abbas marking the occasion of Army Day
