Head of the Lebanese Forces Party Samir Geagea called on the Lebanese government Friday to use force to free army personnel held by jihadist militants from Syria in the border area of Arsal, The Daily Star reported.
He described the Cabinet’s approach in dealing with that issue as fruitless.
Geagea said there were two ways to free the captives, the first one is Hezbollah’s immediate withdrawal from Syria, while the second is a military operation to free them by force.
He argued that the government should fully coordinate with the international alliance to increase the chances of success.
Geagea said “what the government is doing to resolve the kidnapped soldiers’ issue will not lead to any result.”
Militants from Daesh terrorist group and Nusra Front are holding at least 21 troops and policemen hostage.
