
A total of 77 people were killed and 799 others were injured nationwide in 437 road accidents from 23 to 29 September, said Thursday the National Gendarmerie.
Boumerdes province tops the list with 24 accidents, followed by Ain Defla (23), Medea and Biskra (18) and Djelfa and Tipasa (17).
Speeding, dangerous overtaking and manoeuvres, tailgating, pedestrians’ carelessness were the main causes of the accidents, said the source.
