Libya's resigned government urged all armed groups to withdraw from Libyan cities and institutions, especially airports, to allow the army and police perform their duties.
In a statement, the resigned government held the armed groups fully responsible for the crimes and violations against citizens and state institutions and property.
It said that it had firmly asked the armed factions over the past weeks and months to leave the capital but some of them chose to stay despite the calls.
These groups that chose not to comply with the government's calls have shelled Tripoli airport and residential areas with heavy and medium weapons and multiple rocket launchers, it added.
