Rashid Al Nuaimi praises UAE’s digital advancement

The United Arab Emirates has become one of the world's most advanced and prosperous countries, and is one of the highest ranked among the developed countries, thanks to the use of the best technologies, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, said.

The UAE is moving towards the path of digital transformation that is driving its development and progress, he added.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid's remarks came during a field visit to multinational company SAP. He was accompanied by Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the department, executive managers, and several managers and officials of the department.

He explained that the department supported companies that were engaged in digital transformation and would seek mutual cooperation and formalise coordination with them for the benefit of all, adding that the senior leaders of the department had decided to organise this visit to learn about the best practices in digital transformation, adopted by SAP.

He emphasised that the department had made great strides in the field of digital transformation.

The department has aspired to acquire the best in the field of digital transformation, constantly working to transform bright ideas into tangible reality, and seeking to attract the newest technologies and exchange experiences with all the parties concerned.

Sheikh Rashid was briefed on methodologies adopted by SAP for city and road management through advanced control systems. The company demonstrated how to manage waste and the best means for rainwater drainage.

The head of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman also inspected the smart meeting room within the premises, which provided information about the company's situation and projects, allowing managers and decision-makers to take quick and immediate decisions while analysing them in a way that would accelerate affirmative action and ensure the best results.

Sheikh Rashid praised the company's brainstorming laboratory, where solutions are sought for all challenges to ensure that innovative solutions are available to suit everyone’s needs. He also appreciated the role of SAP in the field of digital transformation and mentioned many products and services, stressing the need for closer cooperation between the two parties in exchanging experiences.
