Beirut - Arab Today

Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rahi, Saturday urged Lebanese politicians to work on preserving the economic, daily living and security stability for all the Lebanese.

"I call on all politicians to guarantee economic, daily living and security stability for Lebanese citizens, in order for them to live peacefully in their country," Patriarch Rahi said during the "Antonius Ra'idi Pastoral Complex" inauguration ceremony in Tannourine.

The Patriarch deemed that State officials must undertake an economic renaissance and approve the salary scale issue, in order to ensure balance between income and expenses.

He also called for reducing financial and political corruption, and protecting public money from corruption and theft, as well as paying off public debts.

Moreover, Rahi urged politicians to cease all political interferences in public institutions and the judiciary body
