Chairman of the specialized council for societal development Sherif Abul-Naga said the inhabitants of Rafah town have fully understood the problem on the borders with the Gaza Strip.
They only requested reviewing compensations and maintaining the identity of the region, he told a press conference after a meeting with chieftains of Rafah.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi assigned the council with meeting the inhabitants and listening to their views.
Abul-Naga carried the regret of the presidential institution to the inhabitants of Sinai over the developments that forced the government to take the decision to remove the inhabitants.
The inhabitants fully understood the measures only calling for better compensations and maintaining the identity of the town, said Abul-Naga.
