
Qatari Amir Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met here Friday the Palestinian President and Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Khalid Mashaal.
according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the meeting focused on the current situation in the Gaza Strip, especially the ongoing Israeli offensive and the need for efforts at various levels to halt it, end the siege imposed on Gaza, and achieve all the demands of the Palestinian people.
They discussed moves to obtain a United Nations resolution that sets a timeframe for an end to the occupation and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state in accordance with the borders of 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Qatari Amir underlined his country’s unwavering support for Gaza and its resistance of the occupation, stressing that Qatar’s firm stances towards the Palestinian cause will not be changed in order to help the Palestinians achieve their legitimate demands.
