Qatar to host Peace Initiative Committee meeting

The League of Arab States decided to convene an urgent meeting of the Follow Up Committee of the Arab peace initiative for all its members at the level of foreign ministers in the Qatari capital Doha on August 23. The Meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and Chairman of the Committee, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, with presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Secretary General of the Arab League, Dr. Nabil Al-Arab. In a statement today, Ahmed Ben Helli, Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League said that the meeting came at the request of Palestine.
