President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi delivered on Friday a speech on the occasion of the advent the holy month of Ramadan.
In his speech President Hadi congratulated the Yemeni people on the holy Month of Ramadan, calling them to consider this holy month as a great occasion to uphold the values of goodness, tolerance and solidarity among Muslims.
He said that he didn't seek in any day power but he was imposed to hold the leadership of the country in difficult and accurate circumstances.
"As you know I didn’t seek in any day power, however, I was imposed to hold the leadership of country in difficult, accurate and dangerous circumstances that was about to slip Yemen into a civil war,'' Hadi said.
He added that and under the desire of Yemeni people and its political forces I accepted forcibly to bear the responsibility of the country in extraordinary and dangerous circumstances at political, economic and security levels.
The President stated that because he promised God and Yemeni people to put the interest of the nation and above his own, sparing no efforts to build new features of Yemen and to realize the aspiration of Yemenis throughout the implementation of the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), which stipulated transforming Yemen into a six-region federation.
He said during his speech addressing the nation that you are my support and the source of my strong, will, and determination that I going to continue in implementing the roadmap of our great project to build a new Yemen in the context of wide participation without exception, or exclusion and without exclusivity or monopoly.
He noted that in spite of what have been achieved on the ground concerning the political process in the country, Yemen is still facing major challenges aim to impede this process.
"Despite the positive results have been made on the ground through the NDC and its historic document and what have been achieved till now in the transitional political process based on the Gulf initiative and executive mechanism, that the country is still facing plots and attempts that aim to impede the political process,'' the President mentioned.
Addressing the nation by saying "You might still remember what happened on Wednesday June 11 in the capital Sana'a because it was a new attempt of several attempts which aimed to impede the transitional political process and to return the wheel of change back.
"We have discovered at that day that there were 282 specific places in the capital Sana'a that setting tires on fire, and deliberately the capital Sana'a was empted from oil fuel and a few days before that dozens of oil tanks, coming from Hodeida and Marib to Sana'a were seized or blocked,'' the President said.
"We must recognize that we have inherited a heavy legacy and there is a clear imbalance in the performance in the state's administrative apparatus but we are about to tackle those imbalances,'' he said.
"We are confirming here that the country's economy and administration are our concern during the current and next stage,'' he mentioned
Regarding the media and journalism freedom, Hadi urged the local media outlets to do their role far away from all kinds of their partisan, political, sectarian and regional affiliations.
"I called on media outlets to be committed to professional ethics, putting the country and the nation interests above other interests, staying away from incitement and rumors that damaged the the reputation of Yemen, both locally and internationally,'' the President mentioned.
Concerning the conflict in Amran province and Hamdan, Arhab and Binimater districts, Hadi urged all sides there to be committed to cease-fire deal in order to handle tensions and fighting.
"We will not allow such acts here or there that aim to destroy the country and its nation's security and stability,'' he stated.
The President noted that there is no exit to move Yemen out of its crisis except by implementing the NDC outcomes on the ground, because it has handled all the country's problems.
"The NDC outcomes are the core points for comprehensive reforms in a new system based on justice, equality to all Yemeni citizens,'' the President noted.
He concluded his speech by thanking all sponsors of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism as well as the king of Saudi Arabia and all brotherly and friendly countries for their support to Yemen in this difficult circumstances.
