President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika received Sunday in Algiers Issam Awadh Metouali, who presented to him his credentials as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan to Algeria.
The audience was attended by the minister of State, principle private secretary to the presidency of the Republic, Ahmed Ouyahia, and the deputy minister for Maghreb and African affairs, Abdelkader Messahel.
Following the audience, Sudan's new ambassador told reporters he broached with President Bouteflika bilateral relations, adding that there was a "convergence of views about all international and regional issues."
"We have also mentioned economic relations between the two countries, which require further efforts to be raised to the level of the political ties."
Sudanese diplomat, who conveyed to President Bouteflika the greetings of Sudanese president and people, said he gave the head of State an outline of the latest developments in his country.
