
Syrian national parties affirmed Sunday presidential elections have been run within a democratic atmosphere, distinguished by broad popular turnout from all Syrian people inside and outside Syria.
The parties blessed, in a statement following a meeting, electing Dr. Bashar al-Assad as President of Syria, pointing out that since the beginning of the election process, they announced that President al-Assad is a symbol for guaranteeing security, stability and national unity.
“Next stage requires all of us to stand in one rank with the Syrian leadership to restore stability and security to our precious Homeland, combat terrorist and go ahead in the political reform process,” the parties said in the statement recited by Secretary General of the Democratic Arab Solidarity party Maher Karam.
The parties called for activating national and comprehensive dialogue which won’t exclude anyone, fulfilling a national pact in which all national parties and powers participate.
They also called for unifying efforts of the reconciliation committees, tackling files of the detainees, displaced and the abducted as well as going ahead in the economic reform process and combating corruption.
