Police crack down on Samalout Police station attackers
Cairo - MENA
Perpetrators of September's Samalout police station attack were arrested on Thursday after a fire exchange with security forces in Minya.
On September 29, two defendants opened fire at a security unit affiliated to Samalout police station, leaving three policemen injured.
Investigations located the attackers in areas near Jabal al Tair. Security forces rushed to arrest them in the area but they attempted to run away. One of them opened fire at security forces, forcing them to fire back, killing him on the spot.
One machine gun, a number of bullets and drugs were seized during the raid.
All legal procedures were taken against the attackers.
