Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has vowed to take revenge on perpetrators of the terror attack that targeted a border checkpoint near el-Farafra oasis of the New Valley province on Saturday.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Presidency on Sunday, Mahlab stressed that such attacks will make the government more resolved to fight terrorism.
"Just retribution is coming for New Valley martyrs," Mahlab said.
Mahlab wondered "if the perpetrators of this attack know anything about Islam."
Mahlab said that all details of the attack were discussed during a meeting of National Defense Council last night.
Saturday's sunset attack in Farafra left 21 border guards killed and four others injured.
