
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab will open the Hanging Church on Saturday after the of restoration process that took about 16 years.
Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and a host of ministers, ambassadors and public figures will attend the event.
The process of restoring the church cost 101 million pounds.
The inauguration of the church comes as part of the Antiquities Ministry's endeavors to protect the Egyptian tourist sites, Minister Mamdouh el-Damaty said.
The Hanging Church is one of the oldest churches in Egypt as it dates back to the 3rd century AD.
