PM: Egypt restores leading role at regional, international levels

 Egypt is back to its leading role in the region and world, the prime minister has said.
Egypt was first to fight terrorism that is not only a threat to Egyptians, but the whole world, Ibrahim Mahlab said Tuesday.
World countries are now fighting terrorism, Mahlab said after he gave the go-ahead to operations to upgrade Nuweiba Port.
Egyptians are united to secure the money needed to establish the New Suez Canal, the premier said, noting that the project is estimated to cost some 60 billion pounds.
With the help of Egyptians, the government was able to collect this sum in only eight days, he added.
The government is grateful to the Egyptian people, Mahlab said, vowing to work around the clock to achieve their aspirations and solve their problems.
